via Sartoria Colazzo
The history of Sartoria Colazzo began in 1966 when it was founded by Maestro Arcangelo in the heart of Salento in Martano (LE). Today, his two sons Alessandro and Giovanni have inherited the Sartoria making it one of the most authentic Italian ARTISAN reality. In fact, Sartoria Colazzo is present with periodic trunk shows on the national territory and, with pride, also abroad.
The philosophy of tailoring is to create clothes that enhance and accompany the dynamic man of the current days in any situation he is. The processing therefore has only one direction: softness and lightness almost forming a second skin.
For hand processes, the first step is taking measurements and choosing the fabric, linings and buttons as well as the various characteristics that the garment will have; we then make the personal model paper and the inner canvas of camel hair according to the measurements of each client. The second step involves cutting the fabric that is prepared for the first fitting. We then fix the various corrections and make the pockets and the interior to proceed to the 2nd fitting. For the 3rd step, if there are no further changes, the suit is finalized. The whole creation process takes more than 70 hours of work. All our steps are entirely hand made, according to the most authentic Italian tradition. The flagship of our tailoring is the creation of our sleeve, which has some curls as the most famous Neapolitan sleeve, we call it "a Mappina" because of the similarity with the handkerchiefs of cloth that our grandparents wore in the country.
Since 1966, Sartoria Colazzo uses the following fabrics: Loro Piana, Drago, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Fratelli Tallia di Delfino, Fox Brothers, Holland & Sherry, Huddersfield, Phoenix, Harris Tweed.
